Research: Existing Conventions - Logos and Films Typography

Logos and Films Typography

In the research stage i also analysed famous slasher film titles. This would then enable be to create and effective title with the typography the audience could identify with. I wanted to integrate some sort of element of another title to create an inter-textual reference and therefore my audience would be reminiscent and like the two subconsciously making them want to go see the film. I found that common colours used for the typography were white, red and black.

We created the following designs as they reflected the slasher genre through the use of the colour red symbolising blood as well the blood splatter designs. Also the last design had letters with sharp edges indicating the weapon being a knife.

We decided to choose this as our final title as it conveys aspects of the slasher horror genre. It is also a professional typography which supports our brand identity
